Rating

The ratings of insurer’s financial strength and issuer’s credit ratings serve as one of the key points in assessing the soundness of a company and the level of its risk management practices. Sophisticated methodologies applied by rating agencies for complex analysis of business activity provide a reliable ground for estimating the level of an insurer’s security.

The assignment of a rating by international rating agencies ensures the high level of corporate management and the high degree of transparency for the international insurance and reinsurance marketplace.

In 2002 Transsib Re was granted with the highest security rating A++Re (High level of soundness with positive perspectives) for the first time from the Russian rating agency Expert RA . In 2005 and 2006 Expert RA affirmed Transsib Re this rating.

In December 2006 American agency A.M.Best, specialising in the insurance and reinsurance industry ratings, assigned to Transsib Re an international FSR of C++ and issuer’s credit rating of b+. The outlook for both is stable.

Transsib Re has become the first among Russian insurers and reinsurers to have received a rating from A.M.Best.

In December 2007  A.M.Best  had its FSR upgraded to “B-” (Fair)  and its ICR upgraded to “bb-”  for Transsiberian Reinsurance Corp OJSC (Russia). The outlook for both ratings remains stable.

On February 02, 2009 International rating agency A.M. Best revises outlook to Positive and affirms the financial strength rating of  'B-'  (Fair) and the issuer credit rating of 'bb-' Transsiberian Re.

International ratings form a key element of Transsib Re strategy aimed at creating an international-scale reinsurer. The recognition of Transsib Re by international rating agencies is an excellent mark for the results achieved in the course of the 15-year-long hard work. Nonetheless, it is by no means a reason to cut back our efforts. In the years to come Transsib Re is planning to carry out a series of reorganisational changes (measures) intended to increase the efficiency of its business performance and to raise its ratings.

On December 24, 2009 International rating agency A.M. Best affirms the financial strength rating of 'B-' and the issuer credit rating of 'bb-' Transsiberian Re. The Outlook both rating are Positive.

On December 22, 2010 Internatonal rating agency A.M. Best upgraded  the financial strength rating to “B” (Fair)  and its ICR upgraded to “bb”  for Transsiberian Reinsurance Corp OJSC (Russia). The outlook for both ratings changes to stable.

On December 21, 2011 International rating agency A.M. Best upgrades Issuer Credit Rating to "bb+" and affirmed the financial strength rating for Transsiberian Re. The outlook for both ratings - stable.
